Mastering Number

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are pleased to inform you that our school is taking part in the Mastering Number programme, a national initiative developed by the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) in partnership with our local Maths Hub.

This programme is designed to strengthen children’s understanding and confidence with numbers in the early years of primary school. Through short, focused sessions, pupils will develop a deep understanding of number relationships, including addition and subtraction facts, as well as fluency with number bonds.

The aim is to ensure that all children develop a strong number sense, which lays the foundation for success in all areas of mathematics as they progress through school.

The sessions will take place in our Reception and Key Stage 1 classes.

If you have any questions about the programme, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.

Thank you

 Neri
